It is very useful tricks which helps to solve these types of question in very few seconds. This post also contain some basic definitions, types of problems and most important questions which is asked in previous years exam. This question is also helpful to solve new problems.**

- Distance = speed x Time
- Speed = Distance / Time
- Time = Distance / Speed
- 1 km./hour = 5/18 minute / second
- Minute/second = 18/5 km./ hour

__Time Distance Speed Short__

__TRICK :-__- If any two things travels two same distance with different speed of X km/hour and Y km/hour respectively, then average speed for total distance = 2XY / (X+Y) km./hour
- If any three things travels three same distance with different speed of X km/hour , Y km/hour and Z km/hour respectively, then average speed for total distance = 3XYZ / (XY+YZ+ZX) km./hour

or

If LCM of X , Y and Z is 'L', then average speed for total distance = 3L / (L/X+L/Y+L/Z) km./hour .

**Example :-**If any bus travel from patna to motihar with speed of 60 km/hour and return to patna with speed of 40 km/hour, then find the average speed of bus for hole travel.

If any thing travels for T hours with the speed of X km/hour and travels a definite distance and returns with speed of Y km/hour, then:-__Time Distance Speed Short__

__TRICK :-__

- The definite distance of going and returning of that thing = {2XY / (X+Y)} x T km.
- That definite distance = {XY / (X+Y)} x T km.

**Example :-**A scooter driver travel a distance in 10 hours. If half distance is traveled by 21 km/hour of speed and remaining distance is traveled by 24 km/hour of speed , then find the total distance.

__Time Distance Speed Short__

__TRICK :-__1. If any thing travels a fix distance with speed of X km/hour in T1 hours and with Y km/hour it travels the same distance in T2 hours, then that distance will be,

= {XY / (difference between X and Y)} x (difference of T1 and T2) km.

2. If any thing travels a fixed distance with speed of X km/hour , so it gets late from its regular time by T1 hours abd if it travels with speed of Y km/hour, then its gates late by T2 hours. that distance will be = {XY / (Y-X)}(T1+T2) km.

**Example :-**A bus travels from Muzaffarpur to Raksel `by speed of 50 km/hours and returns with same rout by speed of 40 km/hours. If it takes 1 hour more to return,then what will be the distance between Muzaffarpur and Raksel ?

__TRICK :-__The time to travel a person from train A to train B = Length of train B / Expected speed

**Example :-**The length of train A and train B is sequentially 225 m. and 250 m. If speed will be 54 km/hour and 36 km/hour, then in how much time a person travel from train A to train B if both trains are traveling in opposite directions?

__TRICK :-__If a person ran with speed of X km/hour and after time T he were chased with speed Y km/hour, then time to caught him will be = XT / (Y-X) hours

**Example :-**A thief still a car on 2:30 pm and drive it with speed of 80 km/hour. The theft were noticed of 3:00 pm and thief is chased by another car with speed of 100 km/hour. then in how much time did thief will be caught?

__TRICK :-__
A thing travel a fixed distance with a/b times of his original speed:-

1. If that thing reached late by T hours at that place, then time taken by its original speed,

= {a/(b-a)}x T hours.

2. If that thing reached before T hours at that place, then time taken by its original speed,

= {a/(a-b)}x T hours.

If a thing travel a distance with speed of S1 km/hour in T1 hours and with S2 km/hour in T2 hours, then S1 x T1 = S2 x T2

If a person travels a fixed distance with M km/ hours more speed then its original speed, then he reached before T1 hours and if he travels with N km/ hours less speed then its original speed, then he reached late by T2 hours,

Its original speed = MN (T1 + T2) / (MT2 - NT1) km / hour

If two trains of same length traveling in opposite direction and If one train passes a pole in T1 seconds and second train in T2 seconds, then time to crossing the trains,

= (2 x T1 x T2) / (T1 + T2) seconds.

If two trains A and B is traveling with X km/hour and Y km/hour sequentially and A in traveling from point P to Q and B is travelling from Q to P. After crossing each other they reached at points Q and P in T1 and T2 hours, then:-

X / Y = (T2/T1)^(1/2)

If a thief is ahead by A steps from police and X steps of thief is equal to Y steps of police and in one step of thief he covered D1 units and police covered D2 units in one step, then numbers of steps to caught the thief = AD1 / {D2 - (X/Y D2)}

**Example :-**A person travels with 6/7 times of its original speed and he got late by 26 minutes, then find its original speed.##

__TRICK :-__If a thing travel a distance with speed of S1 km/hour in T1 hours and with S2 km/hour in T2 hours, then S1 x T1 = S2 x T2

**Example :-**A person travel by car with speed 56 km/hour and reached at its place in 5 hours. Find the speed of car to complete that distance in 7 hours.

__Time Distance Speed Short__

__TRICK :-__If a person travels a fixed distance with M km/ hours more speed then its original speed, then he reached before T1 hours and if he travels with N km/ hours less speed then its original speed, then he reached late by T2 hours,

Its original speed = MN (T1 + T2) / (MT2 - NT1) km / hour

**Example :-**If speed of a student is 4 km/hour more then its original speed then he reached at collage before 20 minutes and if he travel with 2 km/hour less then its original speed then he reached 40 minuts late. Find his original speed.

__TRICK :-__If two trains of same length traveling in opposite direction and If one train passes a pole in T1 seconds and second train in T2 seconds, then time to crossing the trains,

= (2 x T1 x T2) / (T1 + T2) seconds.

*If both trains are traveling in same directions then, T = (2 x t1 x T2)/difference of T1 and T2*

**note-****Example :-**A train passes a person standing on platform in 3 seconds. Another train of same length which is traveling in opposite direction passes that person in 4 seconds. In how much time did both the trains will pass each other?

__Time Distance Speed Short__

__TRICK :-__If two trains A and B is traveling with X km/hour and Y km/hour sequentially and A in traveling from point P to Q and B is travelling from Q to P. After crossing each other they reached at points Q and P in T1 and T2 hours, then:-

X / Y = (T2/T1)^(1/2)

**Example :-**A person start travelling from Chapra to Gorkhpur and second person at same time travelling from Gorkhpur to Chapra. They after meeting each other finished there journey in 3(1/3) hours and 4(4/5) hour. If speed of first person is 12 km/hour then find speed of second person.

**Example :-**A person travels 80 km in 7 hours. He travels some part of its journey with speed of 8 km/hour on his feet and he covered remaining distance with speed of 16 km/hour by cycle. How much distance did he covers on his feet?

__TRICK :-__If a thief is ahead by A steps from police and X steps of thief is equal to Y steps of police and in one step of thief he covered D1 units and police covered D2 units in one step, then numbers of steps to caught the thief = AD1 / {D2 - (X/Y D2)}

**Example :-**A thief is ahead by 50 steps from police and 4 steps of thief is equal to 3 steps of police and in one step of thief covered 1(3/4)meters and police covered 2(3/4)meters in one step, then in how much steps did police will caught the thief?
